Early Career Java Software Build Engineer

At the Development Tools team we do just that: focus on providing hundreds of developers with tooling and services to work efficiently in a dynamic and growing environment. While we know this is not an easy task, it is very satisfying to see the results of your work in action!

More specifically, the Development Tools team enables the development workflows, manages the build systems, testing frameworks, and code quality tools, empowers collaboration through an integrated team environment, and other developer tools. Some examples of the projects that are driven by our team are the optimization of our build system, migration to merge requests, automation of merging new code, developing the Development CLI, ensuring consistency of our unit and integration tests.

What you can expect

• You will need to pass a technical test in Java as a part of interview process;
• You will use Java as your main programming language;
• You will collaborate with and learn from very skilled, experienced engineers, product and commercial specialists;
• Design, implement and deliver development tools and services while optimizing existing development workflows;
• Collaborate with other engineering and infrastructure teams to come up with best solutions for the problems at hand;
• Drive adoption of clean code, coding best practices, development productivity improvements;
• You will use your critical mindset by exploring the context and knowing the 'why.' Your opinion will matter right from the start!

Who you are

• You have or are about to obtain a degree in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent;
• Expert in one of the build tools, such as Gradle;
• Good knowledge of Java and scripting languages, such as Python, Bash, Groovy;
• 0-2 years working experience;
• You like working together in a team, solving real world problems together;
• You have the ambition to become one of Adyen's leaders.
