The Software Engineering team delivers next-generation software application enhancements and new products for a changing world. Working at the cutting edge, we design and develop software for platforms, peripherals, applications and diagnostics all with the most advanced technologies, tools, software engineering methodologies and the collaboration of internal and external partners. The TechOps - DevOps Tools engineering team is looking for a Principal Software Engineer who will contribute to the automation around tools supporting Dell EMC engineering teams. There are opportunities to automate infrastructure, platform, and application provisioning, deployment, management along with operational feature automation such as security, monitoring, alerting. This person will be responsible for leading the Tools Design and automation efforts while creating a highly efficient, metrics-driven, DevOps working model leveraging the aforementioned automation. We need a passionate individual who can scale across roles and is flexible to work with a diverse team.
Key Responsibilities
Work with a wide-range of tools and methodologies to understand business needs and requirements and understand how they can be achieved
Support customer requests
Write scripts to automate processes
Familiarity with both Cloud and On-Prem tools and development environments with scale and security as pillars
Work on maintenance & upgrade activities
Essential Requirements
Experience in support activities, communicating to customers and supporting their requests
Jenkins admin activities, ability to write pipeline jobs
Scripting skills, i.e., Python, Bash, Groovy etc.
Knowledge of CICD process , git and Linux
Knowledge of K8s
Desired Competencies
Familiarity with Docker Management, Virtualization and deployment services
Familiarity with configuration management tools like Ansible, Puppet
Familiarity with logging systems like ELK.
Familiarity with monitoring tools like Nagios, Prometheus.
6 to 8 years of related experience
Bachelors degree
